kinderwagen als kadootje

Een collega van mij is vorige week vader geworden van een lief dochtertje, genaamd Senna. Hij is een fervent aanhanger van voetbalclub Feyenoord en dus heb ik mini babysokjes gekocht met het Feyenoord-logo erop (arm kind). Om de sokjes leuk te verpakken, kwam ik via via deze kinderwagen tegen op het internet. Hij is gemaakt van Tilda papier. Voor de duwstang en de assen van de wielen heb ik wattenstaafstokjes gebruikt, die zijn hol, zodat je er aan weerskanten een hatpin in kunt steken. Er was geen patroon van de kinderwagen, dus ik heb zelf maar wat uitgeprobeerd. De bak van de kinderwagen is gemaakt van 2 halve cirkels en de kap bestaat uit 4 losse stroken. De kap en het dekje zijn met een brad aan de bak bevestigd. Onder het dekje ligt het kadootje.

A collegue of mine has become a father for the first time of a lovely babygirl, named Senna. Donny (the father) is a true supporter of soccerclub Feyenoord, so I bought some cute little babysocks with Feyenoord logo on them as a present. This is hidden in the baby carriage that I made for him. I used Tilda designpaper to decorate it and used q-tips for the handle and to attach the wheels. The wheels and handle bar are attached with hatpins, because the q-tips are hollow, so you can stick the pins in and glue it. The hatch is attached with brads to the carriage. I found this idea on the internet.

Lay out

Ik vind het heerlijk om de oude foto's van mijn vader te scrappen. Deze foto is uit 1959 met mijn opa, vader en broer erop. Drie generaties met dezelfde achternaam! Het papier is van Prima Marketing, wel een beetje druk, maar dat heeft als voordeel dat er maar weinig embellishments gebruikt hoeven te worden. Ik heb in het midden van het papier een kader uitgescheurd, de foto gemat en de mat weer gedistresst. Erachter zit ook papier van Prima. Met een paar lintjes, 2 bloemen en 3 vlinders (MS pons) is de lay out helemaal af.

Another picture from the old days. This one is from 1959, with my granddad, dad and brother, 3 generations of my family. Designpaper is Prima Marketing, with lots of prints and color, so it just needed minimal decoration. I added a few flowers, some butterflies (Martha Stewart punch) and a ribbon. In the centre I torn out a frame to fit the picture in. The background is also Prima Marketing designpaper. The ribbon happened to have exactly the same pattern as the background, so that fitted well.

paternoster lift

Op het forum bij Piens Atelier is Elvy een paternoster lift gestart. Er is een inspiratie-lo geplaatst die 3 weken blijft staan en die iedereen kan liften. Dit is mijn uitwerking ervan.
De basis is kraftpapier, dessinpapier is van K&Company (geloof ik), verder heel veel kant uit mijn voorraad en wat minimale embellishments. De fotootjes heb ik ook bij mijn vader meegenomen, het zijn mijn opa en oma van moeders kant.

Elvy started a paternoster lift on the forum at Piens Atelier. She placed a lay out as inspiration to be lifted by anyone, who feels like it. After 3 weeks, someone else places another lay out to be lifted. This is my lift. I used kraftpaper as a base, designpaper is from K&Company, lots of lace and a few embellishments complete it. On the pics you see my grandma and granddad from my mother's side.

Lay out

Sommigen van jullie weten waarschijnlijk wel dat ik parttime op de broodafdeling in een supermarkt werk. Met al onze filialen (60 in totaal) wordt er het hele jaar door een zgn. "winkelwedstrijd" gehouden en wat blijkt, mijn filiaal én mijn afdeling zijn de winnaar geworden over 2010. Hiervoor werden foto's gemaakt en mijn collega's had ik beloofd om die te scrappen. Dit is de uiteindelijke lo geworden, geheel niet in mijn stijl en kleur, maar er zitten een aantal symbolische elementen in. De borders aan de rechterzijkant in blauw/wit staan symbool voor de bedrijfskleding, de kleur goud van de swirl staat voor het behalen van de overwinning (1e plaats), het oranje is de kleur van de afdeling en het kader waarin de titel staat, staat symbool voor het (verplichte) naambordje. Met excuses voor de slechte kwaliteit van de foto.

Some of you might know that I have a parttime job at the bakery department in a grossery store. Every year a competition is held between all 60 divisions, to find out which one is the best. The final results of 2010 show that my store and my department are the over-all winners! Of course some pictures were taken and I promissed my co-workers to make a lay out for them. This is what I came up with. It's totally not my style nore my colors, but I tried to put some symbolism in. The borders on the right in blue and white signify the firm's outfit, the color gold in the swirls was used to emphasize our victory (Championship), orange is the color of our department and the frame is symbolic for our name badge. Sorry for the poor quality of the picture!

Lay out

Vorige week was ik bij mijn vader op bezoek en daar heb ik wat oude foto's uit mijn babytijd meegenomen. Ik heb wel een album met babyfoto's van mezelf, maar dan moet ik ze allemaal los gaan halen om te scannen, dus dat is niet zo handig. Ik heb alvast 1 spread gemaakt met foto's toen ik 1 dag oud was. Sommige zijn in zwart/wit, andere zijn kleurenfoto's, maar dan lekker verkleurd. Het papier wat ik gebruikt heb is van MME (Lost & Found), ook de vlaggetjes en de diecut zijn hiervan. Verder nog wat bloemetjes en kant uit m'n voorraad.
De lo op de tweede foto is gemaakt naar aanleiding van de januari-schets op Piens atelier, je vindt hem hier.

Last week I visited my dad and took some old babypics home with me. Most of them are in black&white, but some of them are color pics, though a bit fainted. I made a spread with these, to start my own baby scrapbook. Designpaper is Lost & Found by My Mind's Eye and so are the die-cuts. Flowers and lace from my stash. cj vintage

De laatste twee lay outs voor het Vintage CJ van Jacqueline zijn ook klaar. Nu krijg ik alleen het album van Simone nog en dan komt mijn eigen album weer thuis. Ik ben zo benieuwd hoe het geworden is.....
Voor de eerste lo heb ik gebruik gemaakt van papier van Prima Marketing, Nestabilities stans (titel), perlen pen, en wat embellishments uit eigen voorraad. Ik vond het best lastig, Jacqueline had gevraagd om niet al te sombere kleuren te gebruiken en dat doe ik normaal gesproken wel (meestal bruin, creme, zwart of een pasteltint). Deze heeft toch wel wat fellere kleuren, ook al is het vintage. De tweede lo is in creme met oranje/bruin, ook zo'n kleur die ik normaal gesproken niet snel zal gebruiken. Nu maar hopen dat Jacqueline ze mooi vindt.

These are the 3rd and 4th lay out for Jacqueline's Vintage Circle Journal. Simone's album will be next and then I will get my own album back. I can hardly wait. It has been on the road for a year, with all my family photo's, oh I'm so anxious to see how it looks!
Anyway, normally I use dark colors for vintage lay outs (like brown, black and cream), but Jacqueline wanted more vivid colors, so I tried my best with pink and orange. I hope she likes it.

haberdashery

Soms zie je iets voorbijkomen op een blog, wat zó mooi is, dat je dat zelf ook wilt maken. Op het blog van Lenet zag ik deze haberdashery en dat was voor mij dé inspiratiebron om er zelf ook één te maken. Hieraan heb ik de hele week gewerkt, best een klus, maar wel ontzettend leuk om te doen. Met dank aan Lenet, die ook nog eens een tutorial op haar blog heeft gezet voor het maken van de spoeltjes. Dus Lenet, bij deze gaat alle eer naar jou! Dank je wel!! Ik ben heel benieuwd wat jullie ervan vinden...

Sometimes, when you're a follower of someone's blog, you see such beautiful craftwork, that I wonder if I can create it as well. Lenet's blog showed a haberdashery, that was so stunning, that I made one for myself.
This one took all week to finish, but it was so much fun to do. Thanks to Lenet, who also wrote the tutorial how to make the spools. So Lenet, thank you so much for your inspiration, you deserve all credits!!

Lay out

Eindelijk weer eens iets voor mezelf gescrapt. Het lijkt wel of ik tegenwoordig alleen maar bezig ben met foto's van anderen, of kadootjes voor anderen, maar deze is dan toch voor mezelf. Deze babyfoto van mezelf lag al een tijdje te wachten op een idee. Het papier, de bloemen en de swirl is van Prima (wat een geweldige spullen hebben die toch!), het element waar de titel op staat is van Pink Paislee (artisan elements), titel is gemaakt van thickers en het kant is uit eigen voorraad. Verder heb ik gebruik gemaakt van de perlen pen (kleine swirls en hartje), distress inkt aged mahogany, bruin cardstock is van Co'ordinations.

Finally I made a lay out just for me. (It feels like I'm scrapbooking gifts and pictures just for others lately, instead of making something for myself). This babypic of me was screaming to be scrapped, I just hadn't got the right idea for it. Anyway, I used Prima Marketing Shabby Chic paper, as well as flowers and corner swirl from Prima. The title was made of thickers and placed on an Artisan Element from Pink Paislee. Also I used one of my pearl pens for the small swirl and little heart, distress ink aged mahogany, brown cardstock from Co'ordinations and lace from my stash.

aftellen!

Het wordt aftellen geblazen! Over precies 236 dagen vertrekken Joyce en ik voor 7 weken naar............
............... AUSTRALIE! Afgelopen maandag hebben wij onze reis geboekt en we hebben er nu al helemaal zin in. We vertrekken 29 augustus a.s. van Amsterdam via Hong Kong naar Cairns (Noord-Oost Australië). Van daaruit maken we een rondreis (met een aantal binnenlandse vluchten) via Ayers Rock, Alice Springs, Adelaide, Melbourne, Sydney, Brisbane, langs de oostkust met de auto terug naar Cairns, dan naar Darwin in het noorden en vliegen op 12 oktober via Brisbane en Hong Kong weer terug naar Amsterdam waar we 13 oktober aankomen. Uiteraard wordt er onderweg een blog bijgehouden, tzt zal ik hier de website vermelden!

Start the countdown! In exactly 236 days my daughter Joyce and I will leave for a 7 week round trip to AUSTRALIA! We will be leaving August 29 from Amsterdam and fly via Hong Kong to Cairns (north-east of Australia). Then we will make a round trip and visit Ayers Rock, Alice Springs, Adelaide, Melbourne, Sydney and Brisbane (domestic flights). Departing from Brisbane we'll take the car and discover the eastcoast of Australia, driving back to Cairns. Another domestic flight will take us to Darwin and  October 12, we'll fly back home via Brisbane and Hong Kong!

Lay out

Dit is de tweede lay out voor Jacqueline's Vintage cj. Ongeveer in dezelfde kleurstelling als de vorige, en toch horen ze niet bij elkaar. De metalen wijzerplaat heb ik ooit eens in Costa Rica gekocht, de stempel erachter is van Tim Holtz, geëmbosst met distress poeder Black Soot. Het papier is van Recollections (Time Frame), de kleine klokken is ook een stempel. Verder rub-ons, doily (bewerkt met distressinkt) en een filmstrip van Tim Holtz.

This is the second lay-out for Jacqueline. The metal clockframe I once bought in Costa Rica, the clock stamp is from Tim Holtz, which I embossed with distress powder Black Soot. Small clocks are also stamped, further I used design papers from Recollections (Time Frame), rub-ons (title on die cut), a doily and a film strip from Tim Holtz.

cj vintage

Voor het vintage CJ van Jacqueline ga ik 4 lay outs maken. Dit is de eerste. Alle randjes zijn gedistressed en gekleurd met distress inkt Vintage Photo. Het kant aan de bovenkant was oorspronkelijk wit, maar dat heb ik bruin gekleurd met ketjap, thee en koffie. De tickets zijn van Tim Holtz, bloemetjes van Prima en de headpin is zelfgemaakt. Titel zijn stickertjes van Cosmo Cricket

For the Vintage Circle Journal of my friend Jacqueline I will make 4 lay outs. This is the first one. All edges are distressed and colored with Vintage Photo. The lace at the top was white originally, but I dyed it with tea, coffee and soja sauce to give it a more worn look. Tickets are from Tim Holtz, flowers from Prima Marketing, the headpin is homemade. The title is made from tiny alphabet stickers from Cosmo Cricket.
