Hi y'all!

Here is a new monochrome layout for my grandsons PL album. It's all in black&white. I used distress inks black soot and hickory smoke in the white background and TH layered stencil #2 for some dotted accents. A few circle stamps and a great diecut complete the background. Title was made with DLS stamps and a handcut arrow. The stitchy stamps are from Denim Tampons and the black round stamp is by Ali Edwards for Technique Tuesday. This layout will participate in the B&W January challenge at Archi-scraps, and in the  #117 Anything goes challenge at the Love To Scrap Challenge Blog

Hi y'all!
First of all I'd like to wish you all lots of good health, prosperity and fortune for 2019! May all your wishes come tru!
I stopped making resolutions, but there is one exception: I intend to post more frequently on my blog in the next year, hopefully I did not set the goal too high (fingers crossed).  For now I want to show you these two PL pages for the PL album of our grandson Sero. All cards were made by me, mostly it's scrapbook designpaper, cut into 4x6 or 3x4 cards. The album in general will basicly be in black & white, although some color might pop up along the line.

PL 2018 album Sero

Voor het PL album van 2018 van onze kleinzoon Sero heb ik besloten om voornamelijk in zwart/wit te werken. Niet alles, maar wel zo veel mogelijk, het is namelijk afhankelijk van de foto's die ik krijg/maak/laat afdrukken. Hier is in elk geval het begin ervan (ja, ik weet het, ik loop hopeloos {bijna een jaar} achter, maar dat komt wel weer goed)

These cards are not even dry yet, still I couln't wait to show them to you. I made these for our next trip to Japan (Tokyo and Kyoto)

I kept them clean and simple, because I imagine that the Japanese culture is also very serene, humble and especially straight forward. As Japan is known as "the land of the rising sun" I just had to make a sunrise card, the only one in this set at has a bit more fuss to it. Geisha stamp is by Carabelle Studio, panda paper and epoxy stickers are Prima Marketing.

Nog wat PL kaartjes

Hallo allemaal!
Elke maandag en dinsdag is het voortaan opa & oma oppasdag, dan mogen wij de hele dag op Sero oppassen! Omdat hij zijn ritme nog niet helemaal te pakken heeft, betekent dat dat hij vaak in de box een hazeslaapje doet. Daar laat ik hem liever niet alleen, want er lopen hier 3 katten rond die de box als hun slaapplaats beschouwen en ik ben als de dood, dat ze bovenop Sero gaan liggen. Ik heb dan ook maar wat knutselspullen naar beneden gebracht, zodat ik wat creatiefs kan doen, als Sero slaapt. Dit resulteert in de volgende PL kaartjes die ik in de afgelopen 2 weken heb gemaakt, allemaal voor Sero's PL album. Komende zaterdag ga ik weer een workshop doen bij Hanny Röttjers, dan leren we weer wat andere technieken voor PL kaartjes, Ik heb er nu al zin in!

Every Monday and  Tuesday we get to babysit our grandson Sero, because his mom started working again. As he still has to get into his daily routine, he often dozes off in his pen, where I don't want to leave him by himself, because of our 3 cats who think of the pen as their sleeping spot. So I took some of my craft supplies downstairs, so that I can get some work done while Sero is asleep. In the past 2 weeks I made these PL filler cards for the boy's album. All with distress inks, stencils and stamps. Next Saturday I booked another workshop to learn more techniques for making your own PL filler cards, I'm so looking forward to that!

nog wat PL pagina's

Hallo allemaal!
Ik had jullie beloofd om nog wat pagina's van het PL album van Sero te laten zien, hier zijn ze dan. De onderste 2 pagina's zijn in een smallere pockethoes gemaakt, voor de afwisseling. Over de Sinterklaaspagina ben ik zelf niet tevreden, maar dat komt deels ook omdat er maar een paar (kleuren-)foto's zijn gemaakt. Ondertussen is Sero alweer 3 maanden oud en is zijn mama deze week voor het eerst weer gaan werken, zodat wij op maandag en dinsdag oppasoma en -opa zijn. Heel leuk!!

I promised to show you more of my PL pages of Sero's album, so here they are. I'm not quite satisfied with the outcome of the "Sinterklaas"-page, but I just had too little photo's to work with. It'll have to do, I'm afraid. Sero is already 3 months old now and his mom has gone to work this week for the first time after he was born, so now every Monday and Tuesday my DH and I can babysit him. Great fun!

Lovely

Hallo allemaal!
Opnieuw een layout voor het baby PL album, toch vind ik dat grote formaat  (12x12 inch) ook wel heerlijk werken hoor. Gelukkig dat je in zo'n PL album alle kanten op kunt en er dus ook grote layouts in kwijt kan. Als basis heb ik opnieuw een schets gebruikt van Sketches in Thyme  nr 259. Papier zijn restjes in dezelfde kleurstelling als de layout hieronder, dus alles past weer prima bij elkaar!

Here is another layout for the PL baby album of Sero. I love that I can combine traditional scrapbooking with PL pocket pages, because some pictures are just too lovely to be cut up to fit the small pockets. For this layout I used another sketch at Sketches in Thyme  (# 259) and some leftover
design papers from previous layouts. I'm glad it's coming all together.

2017

Hallo allemaal!
Welkom in 2017! Ik hoop dat jullie allemaal gezellige feestdagen gehad hebben en het nieuwe jaar fris van start zijn gegaan. Ik heb ondertussen niet stilgezeten en ben druk aan de slag gegaan met het PL album van onze kleinzoon Sero. Geloof het of niet, ik ben zowaar helemaal bij!!!! De kaartjes die ik voor dit album gebruik, zijn bijna allemaal zelfgemaakt, ofwel op DCP papier, ofwel op aquarel en allemaal met distressinkt, stain, spray of verf in de kleuren Tumbled Glass, Broken China, Salty Ocean, Iced Spruge, Peacock Feathers en Twisted Citrus, in combinatie met zwart gestempelde teksten en of stansjes. Hier en daar zitten nog voorgedrukte kaartjes uit een kit, maar daar ben ik mee gestopt omdat het zelfmaken van de kaartjes vele malen leuker is. Hieronder de eerste 4 weken, de rest volgt binnenkort in separate blogposts.

Welcome in 2017. I hope you all had a fabulous holiday and started off the new year with fresh ideas and intentions. Meanwhile I have kept myself busy making PL filler cards for the baby album of our grandson, and I am up to date until now! All cards were made by me on either DCP paper or watercolor paper with the use of distress ink, stains, sprays of paints in tumbled glass, broken china, salty ocean, iced spruge, peacock feathers and twisted citrus. All stamps were made with Archival Jet Black and I used my small dies as well. At some pockets you will also see the Pl cards from a kit, but I decided not to use those anymore, because I prefer to make my own cards. Here are the first 4 weeks of the babyalbum, I'll show the rest in separate blogposts in the next week or so.

nog heel even tijd om...

Hallo allemaal!
Zo, de Kerstdagen hebben we weer overleefd en de kadootjes zijn allemaal uitgepakt. Nu op naar Oud&Nieuw en dan kan het gewone leventje weer beginnen. De meeste mensen vinden deze tijd van het jaar heel gezellig, maar ik zou het het liefst gewoon overslaan. Op het werk is het (soms) heel druk en op andere momenten juist weer niet. Onze tuin is min of meer klaar, dwz de tegels zijn allemaal gelegd. In het nieuwe jaar gaan ze verder met een L-vormige bak in de achtertuin en zal de beplanting geregeld worden. Ben ik vorige week in het stikdonker achteruit tegen een pallet tegels aan gereden wat bij de voortuin stond en heb m'n bumper beschadigd, hoe stom kun je zijn?
In m'n vrije tijd ben ik nog altijd bezig met het maken van PL kaartjes voor het babyalbum van Sero. Het zelf maken is toch echt veel leuker dan die gekochte cardkits hoor, ze worden elke keer weer anders. Bijgaand nog wat voorbeelden, gemaakt met distressinkt op aquarelpapier.
Fijne en veilige jaarwisseling allemaal!

X-mas is over, I hope you all had a great time with lots of presents! Now 2017 is just around the corner and I wonder what this new year will bring us, I sure hope it will be a good year with lots of good things that are about to happen. let's keep our fingers crossed!
My garden is coming together, all pavement is done now, they still have to do the landscaping, but that has been postponed until next year, because of the holidays. Last week I had a little fender bender at the parking lot in front of my house, I forgot there was still a pallet with tiles at the front yard and at 6 am it still is dark, so I couldn't see it in my rear mirror.
When I have a few spare hours, I still like to make filler cards for the baby PL album, they are so much more fun to make instead of using those preprinted ones. Above a few that I made with distress ink on watercolor paper, designing my own line.

PL kaartjes

Hallo allemaal!
Het is al half december en Sinterklaas is ons land alweer uit. Nu vieren we Sinterklaas niet meer, maar als onze kleinzoon een paar jaar verder is, gaan we deze traditie toch wel weer invoeren, veel te leuk om het met zo'n kleintje te beleven. December is wel een feestmaand en wij vieren de Kerst altijd wel met kadootjes, ook dit jaar weer. Over 10 dagen is het alweer zover.  Naast het kopen en inpakken van alle kadootjes ben ik uiteraard ook bezig met het PL album van Sero. Het mannetje is intussen al 8 weken en groeit tegen de klippen op, dus ik ben druk bezig om zijn foto's in de juiste volgorde in het album te plaatsen. Een paar weken geleden heb ik bij De Craftorij een workshop gevolgd: Design je eigen lijn, waarbij Hannie Röttjers ons een aantal vaardigheden en technieken heeft aangeleerd om je eigen PL kaartjes te maken. Dit deed ik al wel, maar wat andere tips zijn natuurlijk altijd welkom. Heel eerlijk gezegd vind ik het zelf maken van PL kaartjes een stuk leuker dan die voorgedrukte kaartjes uit een of andere kit, dus die ga ik niet meer gebruiken, ik ontwerp en maak ze voortaan gewoon zelf! Hieronder zie je dan ook een paar voorbeelden van wat ik tijdens de workshop (en daarna thuis) zelf heb gemaakt, ik ben er helemaal blij mee.

It's already half December and time flies by so fast. Saint Nick has left our country and Christmas is coming soon. In the Netherlands we normally celebrate Saint Nick on December 5, but as our grandson is just too small to understand the meaning of this tradition, we'll have to wait at least 2 more years for him to fully understand and enjoy this feast. For now we'll stick to the Christmas tradition with gifts under the tree. Apart from buying and wrapping all the gifts, I am working on the PL album of our grandson Sero. He is already 8 weeks old and I have a hard time keeping up with all the photos my daughter is sending me. A few weeks ago I took a workshop "design your own line" to create my own PL cards. I enjoyed it very much so I decided not to use the pre-printed cards from any of the kits anymore, but make my own cards instead. It is just so much more fun because you can adapt the colors and designs to your own personal taste. Here are some of the cards that I have made so far, I am very pleased with the outcome.

Welcome baby

Hallo allemaal!
De komende tijd zal ik jullie waarschijnlijk  tot vervelens toe bestoken met PL pagina's van het babyalbum, want babyfoto's zullen er meer dan genoeg gemaakt worden. In elk geval is hier de eerste pagina met foto's. De kaartjes zijn allemaal zelf gemaakt. De speechbubble is eigenlijk een photoprop en het beertje is een stans van Marianne Design. Aangezien de babykamer is uitgevoerd in zwart/wit/ grijs en mintgroen, zal ik ook het fotoalbum in bijpassende kleuren maken. De bedoeling is om zoveel mogelijk zwart/wit foto's te gebruiken, maar helemaal haalbaar is dat niet, want dan zou ik elke foto moeten bewerken.

BFF

Hallo allemaal!
In het PL babyalbum komen ook een paar foto's van de zwangere buik van DD. Haar beste vriendin is (was) tegelijk met haar zwanger, maar zij heeft nog een paar maandjes te gaan. Omdat het eigenlijk best bijzonder is, hebben ze samen een paar leuke dikke-buiken-foto's gemaakt, die natuurlijk niet mogen ontbreken in het album. Ook heb ik een pagina gemaakt met foto's van de papa-in-spé, want uiteraard horen die ook in het verhaal thuis. Achtergronden met distressinkt en stencils, dierenstempels zijn van Cats on apple trees, chipboard van Me & my big ideas.

I did some PL pages with photos of that pregnant belly of DD and her BFF. They have been friends forever and is it very special that they both are pregnant at the same time, carrying a babyboy. On the flipside of the page some photos of the proud father to be. Backgrounds are made with distress ink through a stencil, stamped animal images are Cats on apple trees, and the chippes are Me & my big ideas.
