Momenteel loopt er nog 1 circle journal bij Pien's Atelier (CJ Uit de oude doos) waar ik aan meedoe. Het album van Monique is momenteel bij mij en zij stuurde foto's mee van een vakantie in Nederland. Voor Monique maakte ik deze (voor mijn doen vrij strakke) spread met foto's van opa en oma, die een dagje op bezoek kwamen op de camping. Aangezien ik geloof, dat Monique mijn blog niet volgt, kan ik de spread hier wel laten zien. Het dubbelzijdig dessinapier is van Creamotion en het rood-wit-blauw ervan komt mooi terug in de kleuren van de foto's. Morgen gaat het album weer een deur verder, naar Utrecht.

There is only one circle journal left at Pien's Atelier, that I participate in (CJ photos from the past). Monique sent photos of one of her vacations and I made this spread for her. This clean and simple spread is not what I usually like to scrap, but not every photo is suitable to use on a vintage layout. Designpapers are from Creamotion, and I love how the colors reflect the colors of the photos. As Monique is not a follower of my blog, I thought I could show you what I made. Tomorrow this album will continue its way and will be sent to Utrecht.

er warmpjes bijzitten

Het laatste cj in de ronde "van alles wat" was van Elvy. Zij had foto's meegestuurd van haar verhuizing. Ik was de laatste in het rondje en voor haar scrapte ik de foto's van haar mooie kachel, die een plaatsje in de huiskamer kreeg. Aan de bovenkant heb ik een mask van Tim Holtz met glimmermist bespoten en elke foto heeft wel een accentje gekregen. Op de laatste foto, waarop de haard gezellig brandt, ligt (voor mij althans) het accent, vandaar dat die een dubbele mat heeft gekregen. Het witte kant is getwist voordat het werd opgeplakt. Erachter zit een tag met een recept voor glühwein, wat ze in de winter op de kachel kan zetten.

Elvy's album was the last one for me to scrap for the cirkel journal "all kinds of everything". Elvy sent her photos of moving house, so I made this spread for her of her "old fashioned heater" that she bought for her livingroom. I misted a Tim Holtz mask with Glimmer Mist for the top border, at the bottom I twisted the white lace before glueing it down. The 4th photo seemed to be the most interesting to me, that's why I gave that one a double mat. On the tag you'll find a recipe for homemade glühwein, which she can put on the stove in winter.

Canyonlands

Voor het Cj "van alles wat" wat loopt bij Piens Atelier, had ik nog 2 albums te scrappen. Deze hebben door mijn vakantie wat vertraging opgelopen, maar het album van Monique is inmiddels af en ook al aan haar overhandigd afgelopen zaterdag. Monique had foto's meegestuurd van haar Amerika reis en ik heb voor haar deze layout gescrapt: Canyonlands. Deze keer heb ik geen dessinpapier gebruikt, eigenlijk om 2 redenen: de foto's zijn te mooi om er een "druk" papiertje bij te gebruiken, dan komen ze niet tot hun recht; daarnaast had ik nauwelijks patroonpapier in de juiste kleur. Daarom heb ik ervoor gekozen om effen cardstock te gebruiken. Op de achtergrond heb ik een mask van Tim Holtz gebruikt (zowel de positieve als de negatieve versie ervan) en deze met Cosmic Shimmer en Color Wash bespoten (in paars en butterscotch) om toch iets van een visueel effect te creeëren. De foto linksboven kan scharnieren, eronder zit nog een foto en een ansichtkaart. Nu alleen Elvy's album nog en dat is ook bijna klaar. Elvy, het komt eraan, hoor!

At Piens Atelier, the circle journal "all kinds of everything" is nearly finished. Due to my vacation, there are still 2 albums to be scrapped by me. The one of Monique is done already and was handed to her last Saturday. I made this spread for her, with photos of her journey to the United States. The photos were so beautiful, that I decided to use only cardstock, instead of patterned paper. On the cream cardstock I used a mask from Tim Holtz and sprayed it with Cosmic Shimmer and Color Wash, to create some visual interest. The photo on the upper left is interactive, you can open it, underneath are 2 more photos. Only one more album to go. Elvy, yours is nearly done, so be patient.

Margot, verboden te kijken!!

Een van de sneakjes die ik jullie gisteren liet zien, betreft een layout voor Margot voor het CJ Uit de oude doos. Eigenlijk is het dus een verrassing voor de ontvanger (in dit geval Margot), maar de layout die ik heb gemaakt met foto's van haar dochter, wil ik inzenden bij een tweetal uitdagingen en daarvoor moet ik de hele layout showen op mijn blog. Dus Margot, verboden te kijken voor je!! Ik zend deze layout in voor de volgende uitdagingen:
- Zomer Challenge bij Scrapdelight.  Deze kleuren zijn zo sprankelend, dat ik er een vrolijke zomerse layout van Femke mee heb gemaakt, je wordt er gewoon vrolijk van als je er naar kijkt.

- Re-run # 2 met 4 foto's bij The Paper Trail Makers

Yesterday I showed you a sneak peek of the above layout. Normally this has to be a surprise for the the owner of the photos, but I wanted to enter this layout into two challenges. So Margot, sorry, no peeking for you!
The bright and vivid colors of the Summer Challenge at Scrapdelight inspired me for this layout and I used 4 photos, so I can enter this one as well at the re-run # 2 challenge at The Paper Trail Makers.

Op het forum van Pien's Atelier doe ik mee met een paar CJ's (Cirkel Journals). Elke maand krijg je dan een album van iemand waarin je twee lootjes scrapt en het na een maand weer doorstuurt naar de volgende in de rij. Aangezien ik over 5 weken vertrek voor een reis van 7 weken naar Australië, kan ik in die tijd niet scrappen, dus moet ik een beetje vooruit werken, om de albums geen vertraging te laten oplopen. De lootjes kan ik hier niet plaatsen,, omdat de deelneemsters aan de CJ's ook regelmatig op mijn blog kijken, maar een paar sneaks wil ik jullie niet onthouden.

At the forum of Pien's Atelier I am participating in two circle journals at the moment. You have to scrap two pages in every album that you get, (one album each month) and send that album to the next in line by the end of the month. As I am leaving in 5 weeks for a long vacation to Australia, it would mean that I cannot meet the deadlines for September and October, so I had to scrap in advance. In this way the albums won't be delayed by me.  Above you see a few sneaks of the layouts I have made. I cannot show the whole layouts, as both Jacqueline and Margot follow my blog, and their layouts should stay a surprise for  them, until their albums come home again.

laatste layouts voor familie-album

Dit zijn de allerlaatste 2 layouts voor in het familie-album "Het Steenen Tijdperk" met foto's van "tante Lenie". De foto's zijn allerbelabberdst van kwaliteit, maar het zijn de enige die we van haar hebben, dus dan moet je maar roeien met de riemen die je hebt, nietwaar? Bijna alle familiefoto's zijn daarmee gescrapt, meer layouts passen echt niet meer in het album, het is nu al zo'n kleine 20 cm dik. Het zijn ook niet echt vintage lootjes geworden, meer een beetje shabby met uitgeknipte bloemen (Pink Paislee), die met foamtape verhoogd zijn opgeplakt. De bloemen zijn aangevuld met de schilderstape bloemen en wat fabric ribbon flowers. De koperen embellishments heb ik uit New York meegebracht. Aan de ene kant ben ik blij, dat dit project afgerond is, aan de andere kant was het ook wel weer erg leuk om al die oude foto's weg te (laten) scrappen. Op naar het volgende vintage-project!

These are the last 2 layouts for our heritage album "The Stone Era". These photos of Auntie Lenie are of very poor quality, but it's all we got of her, so they'll have to do. In total the album measures almost 20 cm (thickness), more layouts are impossible to fit into the album. I didn't give these a pure vintage look, more a kind of shabby, with fussy cutted flowers (Pink Paislee), some tape flowers and fabric ribbon flowers. I found the brass embellishments at Michael's in New York City. On one hand I am glad that this project is finished, on the other hand I had a lot of fun getting these heritage photos scrapped. So let's move on to the next vintage project.

Voor het CJ Van Alles Wat van Ria (Noord-Brabant), heb ik de foto's van de Schotse Hooglanders gescrapt. Voor het linkerdeel van deze spread maakte ik gebruik van schets nr. 71 bij Sketchy Colors. Achter de cirkel links zit een tag, waarop Ria zelf nog wat journaling kan schrijven. Het papier is van verschillende merken. Dit is het geworden:

The album of Ria (all kinds of everything) contains spreads of different places nearby her residence. I scrapped these photos for her: "Schotse Hooglanders" (a certain type of wild cows) and used sketch # 71 of Sketchy Colors for the left page. Designpapers are from different brands. Behind the circle on the left page there is a hidden tag, on which Ria can write some journaling when the album is back home again.

Vintage cj

Nu mijn Vintage CJ weer thuis is, is er werk aan de winkel. Het album is prachtig geworden, maar ik had zoveel foto's meegestuurd dat lang niet alles gescrapt is. Dus ben ik nu de achterstand een beetje aan het inhalen. Het zelfgemaakte album met bijbehorende opbergbox blijkt veel te klein te zijn, dus zitten de lo's nu allemaal in een leren album, wat heel wat steviger is. De eerste spread die ik jullie wil laten zien, is die van Oma Bets (Elisabeth van Ark, een van de oma's  van mijn man). Als uitgangspunt heb ik hiervoor schets 251 bij Scrapbook Challenges gebruikt. Ik ben er zelf niet helemaal tervreden over, maar dat ligt waarschijnlijk aan de kleuren van de (vervaagde) kleurenfoto's. Papier is van Prima Marketing (Botanical). Rechts zit een pocket met daarin de overlijdensaankondiging.

Dan twee enkele layouts, die naast elkaar in het album komen. De eerste is Theoroda Apollonia Fransisca van der Heem (de echte moeder van mijn schoonmoeder, die overleed toen mijn schoonmoeder 5 jaar was). Achter de buitenste cirkel is ook weer een pocket gemaakt, waarin het originele trouwboekje wordt bewaard.
 Deze heb ik gemaakt naar aanleiding van de schets van april op Piens Atelier:

Ernaast komt de layout van Poe (de stiefmoeder van mijn schoonmoeder). Zij was huishoudster bij mijn schoonmoeder's vader Emil en hij is later met haar getrouwd. (Snappen jullie het nog?).
Deze layout zend ik ik bij de mei-uitdaging van OVA, gebruik de schets en 3 verschillende soorten kant.
Gebruikt papier van de laatste twee is van Maja Design. Rondom de cirkel en langs de bovenkant van de foto zit kant, uiteraard ook een prachtige stukje kant als embellishment aan de rechterkant en onder de foto heb ik kantband gebruikt als masker.

My Vintage circle journal needs some extra work, because I sent too many pictures along with it. A lot of them haven't been scrapped yet, so I'm trying my best to complete it. The first spread I made following sketch # 251 at Scrapbook Challenges. I'm not quite sure about the colors, but the fainted color pictures needed to be in there as well as the b/w's, so it will have to do. The other two are single lay outs, the first one about the birthmother of my husband's mum (she died when my MIL was only 5 years old) and the other one about her stephmother.

I will enter the last one (Poe is her nickname) at the May challenge at OVA, using the sketch and 3 different laces. Papers I used are from Maja Design. You can see the lace as trim around the circle, at the top of the picture (to cover up some holes) and a beautiful old piece as embellishment. Also I used a lace tape as a mask under the picture.

cj Vintage "Het Steenen Tijdperk"

Hoera! Na bijna een jaar op reis te zijn geweest, is mijn circle journal "Het Steenen Tijdperk" weer thuis. Het is een album met oude familiefoto's van mijn man's kant, vandaar de titel. Onderstaand zien jullie de spreads die de deelneemsters voor mij hebben gescrapt. Iedereen heeft haar eigen stijl en dat is juist zo leuk om te zien als je je album weer terugkrijgt. Stuk voor stuk zijn het juweeltjes geworden! Wij zijn er erg blij mee, temeer daar de familie heel erg dun gezaaid is. My vintage circle journal has returned home! Above you see what it looks like, with all the spreads that the participants made for me. This cj contains the family pictures of my husband's family, that's why the name:
the Stone era (Stone = Steen = his family name). Enjoy the pictures, aren't they lovely, all of them??

ABC Book of Me

Voor een nieuw CJ bij Pien's Atelier wat in september a.s. gaat starten,  ga ik een album meesturen met de titel: ABC Book of Me. Het wordt een album over mijzelf, waarbij bij elke letter van het alfabet een toepasselijke foto hoort. Alle foto's hebben te maken met mijn persoontje, het zijn de dingen en mensen waar ik van hou, die bij mij horen en/of die mij gevormd hebben tot wat ik nu ben. Dit is de welkomstpagina. Het papier is van Tilda, lekker romantisch, de bloemetjes komen uit mijn voorraad, net als het kant en lint. De foto is genomen op mijn 50e verjaardag.

Deze hadden jullie nog tegoed van me: mijn bijdrage aan het retro-album van Simone (uit het Vintage CJ). Het album is inmiddels alweer thuis bij Simone, dus kan ik het hier wel laten zien. Het was best lastig om te maken, retro, als je op vintage bent ingesteld ! De kleuren op de foto lijken heel erg fel, maar in werkelijkheid is het gelukkig iets minder.

This spread I haven't shown yet. It is my tribute to the retro-album of Simone. It was the last one of the Vintage circle journals and I had some trouble making it. Retro isn't quite my fave subject, 'cause it doesn't quite resemble vintage. The colors in the pic look very bright, but aren't in RL.
