Haven van Husavik

Hallo allemaal!
Papier is van Maja Design (combi van Life by the Sea en Life in the Country), embellishments uit eigen voorraad.
Bedankt voor je bezoekje en tot gauw!

Hi everyone!
Today's stormy weather is perfect to spend your day in your own craftroom. I created 2 layouts, while the rain is pouring down my window. I used the October sketch at My Creative Sketches for the layout above. Designpapers are Maja Design (I combined Life by the sea and Life in the country), all embellishments are from my stash. Photo was taken at the Husavic harbour (Iceland), where the sun created this beautiful golden light in the morning.
Thank you for your visit, see you soon!

Big Sketch Contest

sketch # 1
sketch # 2
sketch # 3

At My Creative Sketches there has been a challenge for the Big Sketch Contest, for which you had to create 3 layouts. I have shown each of them before in different blogposts, but here are the 3 layouts on a row.
Thanks for watching, see you soon!

a mother's love

I used sketch # 3 from the Big Sketch Contest at My Creative Sketches to create this layout. On the photo (approx. 1955) you see my DH when he was just a toddler, together with his mum.
Designpapers are from Pion Design, swirl is from ZVA, flowers from Prima Marketing and the diecut (Bless our family) from Crafty Secrets. The music paper is originally wrapping paper that I took home from one of my journeys, but I cannot remember in which country I found it. Lace and doily are from my stash. The doily was inked first and then sprayed with Cosmic Shimmer. All edges were distressed and inked with distess ink. For the title I used Cosmo Cricket tiny alphabet stickers that I put on a double diecut label (Nestabilities).
Thanks for watching and your sweet comments, see you soon!

a dream came true

Yesterday I made my first Australian layout. My daughter Joyce wanted to go to Australia to watch the koalas and kangaroes in their natural habitat. If possible, she wanted her picture taken together with a koala (at the Lone Pine Koala Sanctuary in Brisbane) and so I used this photo for a very girly layout in fuchsia and green. Designpapers are from Prima Marketing, the scalloped circle is from Making Memories (I believe). Pink lace cardstock at the bottom is from KI. I used Typist from QK for the title and sketch # 1 from the Big Sketch Contest at My Creative Sketches.
Thanks for watching and your sweet comments, see you soon!

You dare to dream

Challenge # 2 is online at my creative sketches. I made this layout for my daughter Debbie and combined several different lines of designpapers from Graphic 45 (Botanicabella, Fashionista, Christmas Past). I really love Graphic 45, but find the patterns often too big to be useful. Thankfully the papers are double sided, so when you flip them over you'll find a much more subtile pattern and that is what I used on this layout. All edges are distressed and inked with Vintage Photo. Flowers are from Recollections, film strip from Tim Holtz.
Thanks for watching, see you soon!
